JUST THE SAME

The “JUST THE SAME” project has influenced creation of an Social Integration Centre in Chorzów. It was implemented by the Association for the Family in Chorzów at Pudlerska 22. The Social Integration Centre includes an Activisation Centre and a Socio-therapy for Children and the Youth Day Centre. Activity of the Social Integration Centre is based on conducting activities in various activity workshops. Elder persons fulfill their interests and increase their skills, whereas the youth participates in socio-therapeutic and prophylactic activities aimed at preventing pathologies and addictions. Social Integration Centre it creates possibilities for good co-operation of two different generations. It is implemented through creating conditions for common celebration. For each meeting the participants bring their own input coming from their possibilities and abilities. They have organised plein-airs and exhibitions. Aim for these meetings will be common integration and making the participants more sensible for other people’s problem. Activisation Centre is an institution for day support for elder persons. Its main aim is to prevent isolation and loneliness of elder persons, to organise their spare time through promotion of a healthy life style and activating them for active participation in the society. The elderly who participate in the classes make social contacts, participate in social and cultural life, and spend time in several workshops such as:
Children and the Youth Day Centre is a specialist care and education centre supporting children and the youth aged 11 – 17. The centre’s role is prophylactic by creating possibilities for spending spare time in an attractive way, developing passion and interests, as well as a therapeutic role by providing support of educators and psychologists. 
Therefore, the centre organises various activities of correctional and compensation character – support in learning, psychological games, knowledge contests, outings to the cinema and theatre, as well as activities to develop skills and interests of children in the following workshops:
Thanks to the „JUST THE SAME” project, Chorzów saw the opening of a „Social Integration Centre”, which in the oncoming years will support teenagers, their parents, elder persons, and by conducting the above mentioned activities it will connect generations.
