GMO - in a bitesize![]() Project title: GMO – in a bitesize While implementing the campaign we have prepared many valuable publications (a book „the World according to Monsanto” – which describes the activities of the world largest biotechnology concern, GMO report which includes texts of leading Polish scientists and experts, a DVD with educational films about GMO, folder about the Civil Affairs Institute) and information and promotion materials (a leaflet, a file, stickers, bags, t-shirts, empty CD with a campaign logo) which are necessary education materials during press conferences organised by us, as well as other events in which we took part (seminars, fares, screenings, workshops etc.).
An important element of the project was collection of signatures under a petition for signing products with or without GMOs – it was supported by several thousand people from all of Poland. Thanks to the grant we received a unique opportunity to focus education activities about Genetically Modified Organisms. During the project implementation we have taken many promotional trips which enabled us to make many valuable contracts and to become one of the most important organisations dealing with the topic of GMOs in Poland. Because of activities undertaken by the Civil Affairs Institute the media paid much attention to issues connected with GMOs (a documentary was broadcasted in TVN, reports from the press conferences broadcasted in „Panorama” and local divisions of Polish TV in Łódź and Bydgoszcz, as well as „Kawa czy Herbata” programme in Toya TV took the topic od Genetically Modified Organisms. Tok FM, Radio Maryja, Student’ Radio Żak at Łódź Technical University brodcasted programmes about GMOs. The press and websites published reports from events organised within „the Natural genes”, incl. press breakfast and experts seminar, reviews of „World according to Monsanto” appeared. Campaign products such as visual identity (logo), website (www.naturalnegeny.pl), experts report and received films will be a good base for running further activities under the brand of “Naturalne geny”. Our campaign has a great potential to animate people and institutions which we will use in the future, and moreover it encourages out consumers to opt for healthy and ecological food.
